The Tree Of Life
3am El Ayechi, a beautiful soul we had the chance to meet, shared with us his sacred place beneath the sprawling branches of Om Ezitouna, Tunisia’s most distinguished olive tree. With a voice rich in history, he recounted witnessing and participating in the Bizerte battle from this very spot. Generations of his family were born here, their lives deeply intertwined with the tree’s ancient roots. Each morning and afternoon, El Ayechi returns, usually with his grandson, to bask in the tree’s shade and breathe life into old stories. To him, Om Ezitouna is more than just a tree—it’s a living testament to time, resilience, and the profound bond between man and nature.
